92.3 I Give Thanks To God Every Time I Think Of You

(Philippians 1:3-11)

I thank my God for you every time I think of you; and every time I pray for you all, I pray with joy because of the way in which you have helped me in the work of the gospel from the very first day until now. And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus. You are always sin my heat!@ And so it is only right for me to feel as I do about you. For you have all shred with me in this privilege that God has given me, both now that I am in prison and also while I was free to defend the gospel and establish it firmly. God is my witness that I fell the truth when I say that my deep feeling for you all comes from the heart of Christ Jesus himself.

I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment, so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on that Day of Christ. Your lives will be filled with the truly good qualities which only Jesus Christ can produce, for the glory and praise of God.

92.2 Daily Prayer And Thankfulness

(Acts 2:42-47)

They spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking part in the fellowship, and sharing in the fellowship meals and the prayers.

Many miracles and wonders were being done through the apostles, and everyone was filled with awe. All the believers continued together in close fellowship and shared their belongings with one another. They would sell their property and possessions, and distribute the money among all, according to what each one needed. Day after day they met as a group in the Temple, and they had their meals together in their homes, eating with glad and humble hearts, praising God, and enjoying the good will of all the people. And everyday the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.  

92.1 Thanks To God Who Gives Wisdom And Power

(Daniel 2:20-23)

"God is wise and poerful! Praise him forever and ever.

He controls the times and the seasons; he makes and unmakes kings;

it is he who gives wisdom and understanding.

He reveals things that are deep and secret; he knows what is hidden in darkness, and he himself is surrounded by light.

I praise you and honor you, God of my ancestors. You have given me wisdom and strength; you have answered my prayer and shown us what to tell the king."

91.4 Thanksgiving For Deliverance

(Psalm 48)

The Lord is great and is to be highly praised in the city of our God, on his sacred hill.

Zion, the mountain of God, is high and beautiful; the city of the great king brings joy to all the world.

God has shown that there is safety with him inside the fortress of the city.

The kings gathered together and came to attack Mount Zion. But when they saw it, they were amazed; they were afraid and ran away. There they were seized with fear and anguish, like a woman about to bear a child, like ships tossing in a furious storm.

We have heard what God has done, and now we have seen it in the city of our God, the Lord Almighty; he will keep the city safe forever.

Inside your Temple, O God, we think of your constant love. You are praised by people everywhere, and your fame extends over all the earth. You rule with justice; let the people of Zion be glad! You give right judgments; let there be joy in the cities of Judah!

People of God, walk around Zion and count the towers; take notice of the wall and examine the fortresses, so that you may tell the next generation; "This God is sour God forever and ever; he will lead us for all time to come."

91.3 First Trial Of Job

(Job 1:13-22)

One day when Job's children were having a feast at the home of their oldest brother, a messenger came running to Job. "We were plowing the fields with the oxen," he said, "and the donkeys were in a nearby pasture. Suddenly the Sabeans attacked and stole them all. They killed every one of your servants except me. I am the only one who escaped to tell you."

Before he had finished speaking, another servant came and said, "Lightning struck the sheep and the shepherds and killed them all. I am the only who escaped to tell you."

Before he had finished speaking, another servant came and said, "Your children were having a fest at home of your oldest son, when the storm swept in from the desert. It blew the house down and killed them all. I am the only one who escaped to tell you."

Then Job got up and tore his clothes in grief. He shaved his head and threw himself face downward on the ground. He said, "I was born with nothing, and I will die with nothing. The Lord gave, and now he has taken away. May his name be praised!"

In spite of everything that had happened, Job did not sin by blaming God.
