100.4 I Will Proclaim Your Goodness

(Psalm 145:1-9)

I will proclaim your greatness, my God and king; I will thank you forever and ever.
Every day I will thank you; I will praise you forever and ever.
The Lord is great and is to be highly praised; his greatness is beyond understanding.

What you have done will be praised from one generation to the next; they will proclaim your mighty acts.
They will speak of your glory and majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
People will speak of your mighty deeds, and I will proclaim  your greatness.
They will tell about all your goodness and sing about your kindness.
The Lord is loving and merciful, slow to become angry and full of constant love.
He is good to everyone and has compassion on all he made.

100.3 Last Words Of Jesus: Be My Witnesses All Over The World

(Acts 1:1-9)

Dear Theophilus:

In my first book I wrote about all the things that Jesus did and taught from the time he began his work until the day he was taken up to heaven. Before he was taken up, he gave instructions by the power of the Holy Spirit to the men he had chosen a his apostles. For forty days after his death he appeared to them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that he was alive. They saw him, and he talked with them about the Kingdom of God. And  when they came together, he gave them this order. "Do not leave Jerusalem, but with for the gift I told you about, the gift my Father promised. John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

When the apostles met together with Jesus, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time give the Kingdom back to Israel?"

Jesus said to them, "The times and occasions are set by my Father's own authority, and it is not for you to know when they will be. But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me  in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." After saying this, he was taken up to heaven as they watched him, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

100.2 Profess Your Faith

(1 Timothy 6:11b-19)

Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses. Before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who firmly professed his faith before Pontious Pilate, I command you to obey your orders and keep them faithfully until the Day when our Lord Jesus Christ will appear. His appearing will be brought about the right time by God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He alone is immortal, he lives in the light that no one can approach. No one has ever seen him; no one can ever see him. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen.

Command those who are rich in the things of this life not to be proud, but to place their hope, not in such as uncertain thing as riches, but in God, who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share with others. In this way they will store up for themselves a treasure which will be a solid foundation for the future. And then they will be able to win the life which is true life.

100.1 Proclaim What God Has Done For You

(Mark 5:18-20)

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had had the demons begged him, "Let me go with you!"

But Jesus would not let him. Instead, he told him, "Go back home to your family and tell then how much the Lord has done for you and how kind he has been to you."

So the man left and went all through the Ten Towns, telling what Jesus had done for him. And all who heard it were amazed.

99.4 Confident Prayer Of The Witness

(Psalm 57)

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful, because I come to you for safety.
In the shadow of your wings I find protection until the raging storms are over.

I call to God, the Most High, to God, who supplies my every need.
He will answer from heaven and save me; he will defeat my oppressors.
God will show me his constant love and faithfulness.

I am surrounded by enemies, who are like man-eating lions.
Their teeth are like spears and arrows; their tongues are like sharp swords.

Show your greatness in the sky, O God, and your glory over all the earth.

My enemies have spread a net to catch me; I am overcome with distress.
They dug a pit in my path, but fell into it themselves.

I have complete confidence, O God; I will sing and praise you!
Wake up, my soul! Wake up, my harp and lyre!
I will wake up the sun.
I will thank you, O Lord, among the nations.
I will praise you among the peoples.
Your constant love reaches the heavens; your faithfulness touches the skies.
Show your greatness in the sky, O God, and your glory over all the earth.

99.3 Salvation For Those Who Witnessed And Did Not Care About Their Lives

(Revelation 12:10-12)

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now God's salvation has come! Now God has shown his power as King! Now his Messiah has shown his authority! For the one who stood before our God and accused our brothers day and night has been thrown out of heaven. Our brothers won the victory over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the truth which they proclaimed; and they were willing to give up their lives and die. And so be glad, you heavens, and all you that live there! But how terrible for the earth and the sea! For the Devil has come down to you, and he is filled with rage, because he knows that he has only a little time left."

99.2 The Lord Will Crown Those Who Witness For Him

(1 Peter 5:1-4)

I, who am an elder myself, appeal to the church elders among you. I am a witness of Christ's sufferings, and I will share in the glory that will be revealed. I appeal to you to be shepherds of the flock that Goad gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve. Do not try to rule over those who have been put in your care, but he examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherds appears, you will receive the glorious crown which will never lose its brightness.

99.1 We Witness Even If We Have To Suffer

(1 Peter 3:13-17)

Who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? But even if you should suffer for doing what is right, how happy you are! Do not be afraid of anyone, and do not worry But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, but do it with gentleness and respect. Keep your conscience clear, so that when you are insulted, those who speak evil of your good conduct as followers of Christ will become ashamed of what they say. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if this should be God's will, than for doing evil.

98.5 God Is Our Protector

(Psalm 91)

Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, "You are my defender and protector.
You are my God; in you I trust."
He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases.
He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.
You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight.

A thousand may fall dead beside you, ten thousand all around you, but you will not be harmed.
You will look and see how the wicked are punished.

You have made the Lord your defender, the Most High your protector, and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home.
God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
God says, " I will save those who love me and will protect those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as Lord.
When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them.
I will rescue them and honor them.
I will reward then with long life; I will save them."

98.4 Not You But I Selected You

(John 15:11-17)

"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you. The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them. And you are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because a servant does not know what his master is ding. Instead, I call you friends, because I have told you everything I heard from my father. You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures. And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name. This, then, is what I command you: love one another.

98.3 Apostles

(Matthew 4:18-22)

As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers who were fishermen, Simon (called Perter) and his brother Andrew, catching fish in the lake with a net. Jesus said to them, "Come with me, and I will teach you to catch them." At once they left their nets and went with him.

He went on and saw two brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in their boat with their father Zebedee, getting their nets ready. Jesus called them, and at once they left the boat and their father , and went with him.

98.2 A Shepherd

(Amos 7:14-15)

Amos answered, "I am not the king of prophet who prophesies for pay. I am a herdsman, and I take care of fig trees. But the Lord took me from my work as a shepherd and ordered me to come and prophesy to his people Israel.

98.1 Abraham

(Genesis 12:1-4)

The Lord said to Abraham, "Leave your country, your relatives, and your father's home, and go top a land that I am going to show you. I will give you many descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will bless you and make your name famous, so that you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, But I will curse those who curse you. And through you I will bless all the nations." When Abraham was seventy-five years old, he started out from Haran, as the Lord had told him to do; and Lot went with him.
